Week 2/9/18. Ripon
So we went for a relaxing holiday in Ripon. It’s Yorkshire, but flat compared with a lot of it. Saying that it’s been great for walking with Mrs Treehuggery and little Moo the sad faced dog.
We’ve been out seeing the local wildlife and visiting some intersting places.
Wild life we’ve seen includes bunnies, deer, owls and plenty of sheep and cows.
History of the area is very interesting. From the cathedral to the gaol and old courthouse to the charter that means every night at 9 o clock a hornblower has to blow his horn at the four corners of the obelisk to set the watch for the night.
On one of the runs I ended up with a guided tour from a Ripon Rd runner who was out doing his own thing. Got to see fountains abbey and an old tower and have a good matter about the area and running. A big thanks to him for that.
